What do we do?
Spring lawn weed and feed.
What will a basic spring treatment involve? Following a free site visit (recommended as no 2 lawns are the same) I will suggest what feed your lawn needs to give it the best start. This will be in the form of a fertilizer, herbicide and moss control.
If you wish to have any aeration or scarifying ) I can quote for those as separate additional treatments.
Summer
A basic summer treatment will include fertiliser and weed control, moss control and seaweed for enhanced plant health.
Autumn treatments
Autumn.
Basic Autumn treatments will include low nitrogen fertiliser with micro nutrients, moss control and a final herbicide treatment. Other treatments such as excess moisture control and aeration, overseeding and scarification can be added as required.
Winter treatments
Winter
At this time of year the grass will be dormant (unless it is particularly mild) so we need to protect the plant from disease, moss encroachment excess moisture. Now is the time to apply penetrants to help wick excess moisture through the soil profile and continue to strengthen the plant with applications of micro nutrients such as calcium, magnesium etc.
Basic Winter treatments include low nitrogen fertiliser including micro nutrients and root feed. Moss control. Other treatments such as moisture control can be added as required.

Review of Apex Lawn Care. When a flyer from Apex Lawn Care dropped through our door we were a little apprehensive to get in touch. I thought our lawn problems might be too small for Andrew’s expertise. We couldn’t have been more wrong! Our lawn on a new build estate is typical - impoverished soil and poor turf full of perennial creeping weeds. Andrew made an initial free friendly home visit to assess the problems and gave us some good advice. No pressure to use him! Seasonal treatments are recommended so we decided to have a spring treatment which was clearly explained and surprisingly affordable. Our sad neglected lawn was sprayed with a herbicide and seaweed feed to get rid of the weeds and moss and feed the thin grass.. One week later we can already see a great improvement! The area will next be thoroughly aerated to improve drainage and some reseeding done. We will certainly follow this up with further seasonal visits to maintain a healthy soil and nice looking lawn. It will save us so much work ourselves using product after product of shop bought ‘solutions’. Watching the weather, calculating and mixing gallons of weed& feed etc was time consuming and often had little effect. We are so glad we got in touch with Andrew who has recently moved to Cumbria and would certainly recommend him if you despair of your lawn would like a decent patch of grass at last!
